Our activities in 2022


  • Mother tongue teaching for beginners at three levels, with a focus on grammar.

    The association helps Arabic-speaking individuals to integrate into Swedish society by offering instruction in the Swedish language and its terminology based on Arabic culture. Teaching the mother tongue strengthens identity and independence and promotes understanding of other cultures.

  • Homework help in mathematics, English and Swedish.

    The association offers regular homework help, activities and education for children, young people and adults who have difficulty with the core subjects at school. In our association, trained teachers and pedagogues work in various subjects and levels. The training takes place once a week at ABF's premises.

  • Latin dances in January and February.

    We met twice a week with Helena Furuland, where the members learned movement and dance technique.

  • Activities for children, young people and adults in January and February.

    Movement activities for both children and adults. We used the gymnasium at Vasa School and met there twice. In addition, we had a fun excursion to Lio's playland in Eskilstuna.

  • Book circle for the mothers in February and March.

    We met once a week and read a fairy tale in Swedish to practice and improve our Swedish language skills. The mothers also shared opinions and asked each other questions.

  • Easter activities in April.

    We met young people and children together with the mothers to talk about Easter. Then they also had the opportunity to paint on eggs, and we invited them to sweets, popcorn and juice.

  • Flea market in May.

    The association has organized a flea market to promote a more sustainable lifestyle by reusing instead of buying new, reducing our impact on environmental resources and promoting sustainable consumption.

  • Culture Day in May.

    During the rehearsals and the presentation, the participants burst with enthusiasm and joy. Their commitment was a beautiful example of how culture can be used to participate in and influence society as well as express themselves. The children in Ljus Framtid förening performed songs and shared pieces of music with the help of instruments such as Oud and SAZett.

  • The project "You choose your future" in May and June,

    Every Friday we gathered to discuss how people can take control of their lives and future together with others. We covered topics such as finances, work, education, society, parenting, self-esteem and self-confidence. The goal was to provide inspiration, knowledge and new ideas to help participants actively shape their future.

  • Family activity in July.

    Because the family is the basis for children's safety, Ljus Framtid förening arranged a family activity at Skogsmullen's playground (Aventyrsparken). The families had the opportunity to enjoy joint activities and we invited them to a pleasant time with sweets, juice and ice cream.

  • Christmas crafts at the cultural center Multeum in December.

    The association had the opportunity to collaborate with Strängnäs municipality and the cultural center Multeum. Families gathered to do crafts, have coffee, listen to music from different parts of the world and watch the film "Astrid Lindgren's Christmas".

  • Christmas party and end of term in December.

    The 2022 Christmas party was held at the ABF house with women, children and young people. The aim was to promote a better understanding of Swedish culture, which helps with their rapid integration. We met all the children who have participated in our activities and struggled with their studies and homework. The association gave gifts and invited them to candy, popcorn and juice while they watched movies.
